Niagara police have begun a homicide investigation after a tent fire in a St. Catharines park earlier this week led to the discovery of a man’s body.
Officers say at around 3:15 a.m., patrols in the area of Glendale Avenue saw a fire involving a tent within the forested area of Mountain Locks Park.
Emergency crews quickly extinguished the large fire in the wooded area, discovering the body of 53-year-old Kenneth Dombroskie of fixed address.
Police have since determined the man’s death to be a homicide, with detectives and the local forensics unit taking charge over the investigation.
