Niagara police are investigating after a man was found dead Tuesday morning following a tent fire in a St. Catharines park.

While conducting proactive patrols in the area of Glendale Avenue at around 3:15 a.m., authorities observed a fire within a forested area of Mountain Locks Park.

Upon further investigation, officers found a large fire involving a tent in a wooded area. Emergency crews quickly extinguished the fire, leading to the discovery of a man’s body.

The District Criminal Investigative branch is working with the Ontario Fire Marshal for the investigation.
