Two charged after Niagara police seize $19K in drugs

A man and woman from Niagara Falls have been arrested after police seized thousands of dollars worth of illicit drugs from a car and two residences.

Niagara police say on Tuesday, detectives observed both suspects placing what appeared to be illicit substances into a vehicle on Morrison Street in Niagara Falls.

Detectives say they placed the suspects under arrest, and a judicial search warrant was granted for the vehicle. The following items were allegedly seized:

  • CAD $940;
  • 23.5 grams fentanyl with an estimated street value of $2,700;
  • 63.9 grams crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6,390; and
  • 66 hydromorphone tablets with an estimated street value of street of $2,640.

Investigators say they observed the pair  frequent a hotel room on Lundy’s Lane, and an apartment on Barker Street in Niagara Falls.  Another warrant was granted for both residences and the following items were allegedly seized:

  • 42 hydromorphone tablets (street value $840);
  • 32.4 grams fentanyl (street value $6,480);
  • 3 functioning replica handguns; and
  • 12-gauge shot gun round.

Thirty-four-year-old Matthew Myhal and 38-year-old Staci Gibb, both of Niagara Falls, face multiple drug trafficking charges.
