Metrolinx released new design concepts for Hamilton’s Light Rail Transit system, providing a better idea of what the transit stops may look like.

One concept image depicts a future King Street East underpass, which will allow light rail vehicles to travel under an existing rail line.

A second concept image shows the stop at Parkdale Avenue in Hamilton’s east end.

Metrolinx released concept render of a future Parkdale Avenue stop, which shows an at-grade open air stop on the future Hamilton LRT. The stop will be steps away from Parkdale Park, Pat Quinn Arena and facilitate connection to HSR buses (Photo Courtesy Metrolinx).

The updated maps and drawings are the first to be revealed since 2017, and are subject to change.

These stops are are a long way off from being realized, with request for proposals having just recently been released for the first major Hamilton LRT contract.
