A Brantford man is facing murder charges after a disturbance at a Colborne Street motel.

On Feb. 9 at about 7:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving two men at a motel at Colborne Street and Locks Road.

When police arrived, they found a deceased man that appeared to have been assaulted. Officers arrested and charged a 42-year-old man at the scene who is now facing second degree murder charges. The accused was held for bail.

Authorities believe the two parties are known to each other and say this is an isolated incident. No other suspects are wanted by police.

Detectives add that there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident.
