Ontario opens bidding for construction of Hamilton’s LRT

Ontario has announced that bidding is set to begin on the first stage of construction for Hamilton’s LRT.
According to a release from the provincial government Wednesday afternoon, four teams have been invited to submit proposals for civil work along the 14-kilometre route.
The work will include utility relocations, roads, structures, grade separations, bridges, sidewalks and traffic control signals.
Completion of the Hamilton LRT will connect 50,000 daily commuters to an expanded Hamilton Street Railway and GO network.
The rail system would offer stops across the city from Eastgate Square to McMaster University.
