Man seriously injured in e-scooter collision in St. Catharines

A 49-year-old man is dealing with life-threatening injuries after an incident involving an electronic scooter in St. Catharines last night.

Niagara police say the collision happened around 6:45 p.m. on Lighthouse Road, prompting a closure at Lakeshore Road for an investigation.

Multiple emergency vehicles were called to the scene and police say the man was transported to an out-of-region hospital.

The investigation was taken over by the police unit’s Collision Reconstruction Team. No charges have been laid.

The road has since reopened.
