Three suspects wanted in jewelry store robbery at Hamilton mall

Police are on the hunt for three suspects after a Tuesday evening robbery at a jewelry store inside a busy Hamilton mall.

The incident happened just after 8 p.m. at Howard Jewellers in Lime Ridge Mall.

Police say that three males — two of them described as teens — were involved in the theft.

Two of the suspects entered the store and used hammers to smash display cases and steal the jewelry.

A third suspect remained outside the entrance as a lookout.

Suspects descriptions are as follows:

  • Black male, approximately 15 to 17 years old and wearing a white sweater, blue Nike shorts, and yellow and black shoes. He had on a grey and black balaclava, black gloves and was carrying a silver hammer;
  • Black male, approximately 14 to 17 years old and wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants, and black and white shoes. He had on a black balaclava, blue gloves and was carrying a yellow hammer; and
  • Male wearing an all-black tracksuit with black and white shoes.

The suspects are believed to have fled in a newer-model white Acura.

Police say that three witnesses were outside the store and appeared to record the robbery on their phones. Investigators are urging the people to come forward and provide any video footage related to the crime.
