Man charged with aggravated assault after axe attack in Stoney Creek

Hamilton police have charged a man with aggravated assault following an axe attack Tuesday on Stoney Creek Mountain.

Officers responded around 11 a.m. to a report of a fight at a home in the area of Ackland Street and Paramount Drive.

Police found a man with injuries. He was then taken to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators say the suspect used the handle of the axe to cause the injuries. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
