Mayor Horwath invites residents to Community Safety Summit

Mayor Andrea Horwath is inviting Hamilton residents to take part in a Community Safety Summit next month aimed at addressing local safety concerns and strengthening collaboration across the city.

The event will take place Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at LiUNA Station’s King George Ballroom, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The summit will bring together residents, community organizations and local leaders to discuss issues such as hate, gender-based violence, and youth and gun violence. Participants will also hear from experts with the Hamilton Police Service and local agencies, take part in discussions, and help identify next steps toward building a safer and more inclusive community.

“The Community Safety Summit is about coming together as a community to listen, learn and work toward real solutions,” said Horwath. “By understanding each other’s experiences and challenges, we are building a city where everyone feels safe and supported.”

City Manager Marnie Cluckie said community input is key to the city’s approach. “The safety and well-being of Hamilton residents is our top priority,” she said. “Every voice matters, and we’re grateful to those contributing by completing the Community Safety Input page or joining us at the Summit.”

Residents can share feedback through the Community Safety Input page on Engage Hamilton from Oct. 27 to Nov. 24, 2025. Insights gathered will help guide summit discussions and support the city’s ongoing community safety and well-being plan.
