Update: On Wednesday night a 22-year-old man, recently charged with the murder of a Brantford couple, escaped from jail. Thunder Bay police have now located and arrested Kareen Zedan.

Zedan, of Pickering, was arrested in Thunder Bay on March 24 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 2019 deaths of Larry Reynolds, 64, and Lynn VanEvery, 62.

Zedan was scheduled to appear in Brantford court via video on Thursday.

Reynolds and VanEvery were fatally shot at their home on Park Rd. South just before 8 a.m. on July 18, 2019.

They were both treated at the scene by emergency medical services but later died from their injuries.

Residents in the area reported hearing multiple shots the morning of the shooting.

A neighbour’s surveillance camera caught footage of a man running from a black car into the house and back out again.
