London Mayor Joe Fontana is due for a preliminary hearing today on fraud charges.

Fontana is accused of using taxpayer money to help pay for his son’s wedding reception in 2005 when he was a Liberal MP.

He’s charged with fraud under $5,000, uttering a forged document, and breach of trust by a public official. Fontana’s lawyer says the mayor has a strong case and will plead not guilty to all charges.
