Leak at Pickering nuke plant
Officials are describing the risk as slight, after a minor leak at the Pickering nuclear reactor.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission says a pump seal failure caused 73,000 litres of de-mineralized water to leak from the Pickering ‘A’ generating station on Monday.
It says “the radiological risk to the environment and people’s health is negligible.”
Canada’s nuclear regulator, along with Environment Canada are monitoring the situation.
