Colourful mural celebrates Hamilton’s pollinators

A new flowery mural is encapsulating Hamilton’s efforts to save the bees.

The Hamilton Naturalists’ Club and Environment Hamilton are planting a “pollinator corridor” of native plants, which will provide food and shelter to pollinators across the city.

The 40×8 mural at the York Blvd. Parkette between Pearl and Ray St. was unveiled Wednesday.

The colourful piece  includes native trees, shrubs and wildflowers, which help pollinators fertilize fruits, vegetables and plants.

It was designed by local artist Gerten Basom and was painted by students at Hess St School.
