Jury selection is taking place today for the second-degree murder trial of a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death in 2013.

36-year old Tania Cowell was killed in March 2013 in her apartment in Stoney Creek.

Her common-law partner, Haiden Suarez-Noa, turned himself into police in Guelph a few hours after the killing.

Suarez-Noa has pleaded not guilty.

Jury selection is expected to take about two days. The trial starts Monday and is expected last three to four weeks.
