Human trafficking in Hamilton

Two people are under arrest after an investigation into human trafficking in Hamilton.

Police say the allegations involve recruiting a teenage girl for prostitution.

And they say that two people, 49 year old Stephen Ball and 27 year old Nicole Sendecki, both of Hamilton, face several charges including an adult transporting a person to a bawdy house and an adult owner of a bawdy house.

Police also say there are some charges being laid for the first time ever under the new human trafficking law brought in this year.

Charges include adult trafficking in persons under 18 and adult living on the avails of juvenile prostitution.

This is the first time we have laid those charges.

The arrests were made with additional help from the vice and drug units.

The accused are being held in custody and will be back in court Thursday.
