Hudak cold to wage freeze bill
The PCs say premier McGuinty’s public sector wage freeze legislation has no backbone and they won’t support it.
Tim Hudak says it exempts municipalities, police and firefighters and doesn’t impose an immediate pay freeze.
“I’m open to geniune attempts to reign in the overspending and kick-start our economy. But this was neither, let’s be frank this was more about political posturing, this was simply a proposal. Lots of window dressing but let’s face it there’s no teeth in there. So I can’t support it.”
If he had his way, Hudak says he would open existing contracts to impose a freeze on all public sector workers and take away bonuses given to 98 percent of government managers.
