Horwath: Chance for change

NDP leader Andrea Horwath says the people of Ontario have a golden opportunity to re-open the doors of communication with the province on new power deals.

She says after not including the public in their decisions to cancel gas plants in Oakville and Mississauga, the Liberals can be more inclusive this time around.

“If the people of Ontario are paying for these private power deals, they deserve to know what’s in them. It’s time to start shedding light on how private power is working or not working for the people of Ontario.”

Horwath notes we have the highest electricity bills in Canada. she says that’s the result of the government keeping power deals closed to public debate.
