Hamilton workplaces face new COVID-19 rules as of Monday

New COVID-19 safety restrictions come into effect at Hamilton workplaces starting today.
On Friday the province announced would remain in the red zone of the province’s colour-coded pandemic response plan.
But the city’s medical officer of health Dr. Elizabeth Richardson put new restrictions in place.
Active screening is now required at malls, which will also have to reduce capacity to ensure physical distancing. Each store will have to post its capacity.
The same changes are in place at retail stores that are not in malls.
As of Monday, active screening is also now required at any workplace. The screening can be either remote or in person.
Hamiltonians will now be screened every time they enter the workplace. The city of Hamilton says they are moving forward with an educational and supportive approach to enforcement, but corporations who don’t comply could face a fine of $10 mill per day. @morninglive @CHCHNews pic.twitter.com/3hYupTscZf
