Hamilton police seek pair suspected in serious assault of woman on Market Street

Hamilton police are asking for help identifying two females in connection with an assault that left a woman with serious injuries in July.

Officers say on July 17, at around 10:35 p.m., they were called to a home on Market Street, near Caroline Street North, following reports of an assault.

They say a 47-year-old woman from Hamilton was standing outside the home, when she was approached and confronted by two unknown females.

The woman was allegedly assaulted and sustained serious injuries that required surgery. She was transported to a local hospital where she received medical treatment.

Investigators searched the surrounding area, but were unsuccessful in finding the suspects.

Detectives are looking for a white female between the ages of 15 and 24 years old with a heavy build and long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts.

They are also looking for a second white female of an unknown age, with a medium build who was wearing white or grey shorts and a tank top.
