Hamilton police investigating two indecent acts on Dundas trail

Hamilton police are investigating two separate indecent acts on walking trails in Dundas.

Authorities say on March 21, police were called to a section of the rail trail near Lynden Road after receiving a report of a man committing an indecent act.

The victim reported that she was walking along the trail when she noticed a man standing approximately 100 metres away with his pants lowered, masturbating while staring in her direction.

On March 25, officers received a second report of another indecent act on the trail. The victim in this incident says they saw a man nearby masturbating. Police arrived on scene but were not able to locate the man.

Investigators describe the person involved in both incidents as a white man wearing a black hoodie and white shoes.

Officers say there will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.

Authorities are reminding the public to follow these safety tips:

• Stay on designated, well-maintained paths where possible
• Avoid slopes and areas near the edge of the escarpment
• Visit trails during daylight hours
• Remain aware of your surroundings
• Carry a fully charged cell phone
• Travel in pairs or groups when possible
