Halton police are investigating after a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in Mapleview Shopping Centre in Burlington on Monday.

A police spokesperson confirmed to CHCH News that it happened shortly before 4 p.m. at Michael Hill.

Const. Jeff Dillon says four male suspects dressed in black clothing and face coverings allegedly used hammers to smash the glass jewelry display cases.

He says multiple pieces of jewelry were stolen.

No injuries have been reported.
