Hagersville ‘Catch the Ace’ $1.76M jackpot has been caught

UPDATE: After 45 weeks Richard Marshall has taken home almost $2 million in the Hagersville Catch the Ace lottery.
Hagersville is going to be a busy town as the line is already forming Thursday morning for the “Catch the Ace” grand prize.
The current Catch the Ace jackpot has grown to $1.76-million and there are just eight cards left in the deck to choose from.
Emily Tayler from CHCH News spoke to people waiting in line this morning.
“When you’re retired you got lots of time to do this,“ said one resident. “Of course I’m going to win, it’s my lucky day.”
Another person said if he wins the prize he plans to go on vacation with his wife and take two weeks to think about the rest of the money.

Half of the money raised from the lottery will go to the West Haldimand General Hospital, the local food bank and Hagersville Lions community projects.
A constant stream of people have lined up outside of the Hagersville Royal Canadian Legion in the past several weeks.
Every Thursday, a name is pulled from tickets sold that day, but no one has caught the ace so far.
Tickets must be bought in-person, at the Hagersville Legion, which begins at 9 a.m. The draw is at 8 p.m. tonight.
