There has been a change in plans for the renovation of Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre, as the project is being pushed back to accommodate activities around the Grey Cup this fall.

However, due to the pandemic, planned events at the arena were canceled, which impacted the profitability of the annual game, thus, the league awarded the 2023 game to the city also.

This change will allow the arena to be used for festivals around the football game, although there are concerns about the possibility of additional delays.
