Ford recalls hundreds of thousands of vehicles

A recall has been issued for nearly 700,000 Ford trucks, cars and SUVs due to two manufacturing issues that are causing an increased risk of crashes.

The company is warning of issues with windshield wiper motors and integrated trailer modules (ITRM).

The following vehicles have been recalled due to a software problem with the integrated trailer module which could cause trailer lights to not work when towing:

  • Ford F-150 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford Maverick 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford F-600 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford Expedition 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford Ranger 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Lincoln Navigator 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford F-250 Super Duty 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford F-350 Super Duty 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford F-450 Super Duty 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford F-550 Super Duty 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026;
  • Ford Transit 2026.

Several other older Ford vehicles have been recalled due to the possibility of an outer ball joint for the rear suspension:

  • Ford Explorer 2017, 2018, 2019;
  • Ford Explorer – Police Interceptor Utility 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Ford says it will contact impacted drivers on how they can make the appropriate upgrades to their vehicles.
