A day after a huge win for the Toronto Blue Jays, the general public was able to snag playoff tickets today.

You couldn’t have asked for better timing than to open the box office for the general public than after arguably the most important win in the last 22 years. Russell Martin smacked a three-run homer and put the Jays way ahead to beat the Yankees 4-0 to win the season series against the Bronx bombers.

The Jays are now back to leading the Yankees by 3.5 games in the AL east with 10 games to go in the regular season. Marcus Stroman remains undefeated in his return from ACL surgery and the Jays are on fire.

So was the box office. While season ticket and flex pass holders got their tickets weeks ago, the public was able to buy tickets either online or on the phone at 10 am today. CHCH’s Phil Perkins actually got to work early, logged on and was able to snag two tickets in the 100 level for game one of the ALDS.

Each ticket was $131 each. The process took about 30 minutes; when Phil went back to buy another 2 for his friends, he had no luck. The rest of the home games for the ALDS are completely sold out.

The tickets are already on secondary markets like StubHub. The tickets Phil purchased for $131 are on sale for $400.
