Fighting resumes as Israel-Hamas truce deal collapses

War has resumed in Gaza just minutes after a temporary cease-fire deal expired as Israel accuses Hamas of violating the terms of the truce.
Both Israel and Hamas are trading blame, with Israel claiming rockets were fired by Hamas just over an hour before the deal ended and Hamas accusing Israel of denying offers to free more hostages.
The truce was extended twice since it began last Friday, a move that allowed for dozens of hostages being held in Gaza by Hamas to be freed in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons.
With the deal now through, concerns are rising over the one hundred hostages that remain trapped in Gaza and for the growing humanitarian crisis being faced by Palestinians.

Back in Gaza Friday morning, clouds of smoke and explosions could be seen across the skyline as Israel resumed its bombardment of the land.
Leaflets were passed out to those in Khan Yunis by Israel, urging all residents to evacuate southern parts of Gaza immediately and head to the Rafah area for shelter.
Palestinians could be seen fleeing the city in large numbers Friday as the Israeli military prepares to widen its attack on the region.
Thus far in the war, fighting has been largely concentrated in the northern part of Gaza.
The foreign ministry of Qatar, who has been a mediator throughout the ceasefire agreement, says that talks to renew the truce are ongoing and is now calling on the international community to “move quickly to stop the violence.”
