Famed Niagara Falls-born lawyer Eddie Greenspan dead

Edward Greenspan, one of Canada’s most well-known defence lawyers has died at the age of 70.
According to his law firm, Greenspan died in Phoenix, Arizona. No cause of death was given.
Greenspan, who was born in Niagara Falls, was awarded an honourary doctorate of laws from the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1999.
The Toronto lawyer’s lengthy list of famous clients included publishing mogul Conrad Black, former Nova Scotia premier Gerald Regan and Cineplex Odeon co-founder and film producer Garth Drabinsky. As well as a 44 year career as a defence lawyer, he hosted and narrated the CBC series The Scales of Justice, which won a Gemini award in 1993.
