Earth day clean up

To mark Earth Day, the Hamilton Port Authority was doing its own kind spring cleaning. Several tenants around the Hamilton Harbour got together to clean up the port property in the north end. Hamilton Port Authority CEO Bruce Wood says his team is dedicated to cleaning a channel: “We are happy to do it. We have teams all over the port and all over — where our costumers are. So, we’re just one team doing this spot — there is many others.”

The staff and several tenants of the port cleaned from 10am until noon, picking up all kinds of trash. A total of 42 vounteers participated and teams collected 78 bags of garbage and 16 bags of recycling. They’re planning to be back out cleaning for Earth Day in 2015.
