Driver charged after travelling 156km/hr in Burlington

A Mississauga driver clocked at more than double the speed limit in Burlington has been charged.

Halton Police say an officer in the area of Harvester Rd. and Appleby Line saw a Mercedes Benz speed through the intersection.

This was around 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The vehicle was captured on radar doing 156 km an hour on Harvester Rd.

The posted speed limit in the area is 60 km an hour.

The driver was pulled over and was charged with speeding and stunt driving.

The vehicle was seized and the man was given a seven-day licence suspension.
