New Democrat MPP Cheri DiNovo joined members of paramedic, firefighter and police associations today to talk about Bill 129 – an amendment to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.

DiNovo tabled the the bill last week. It aims to fast-track benefit claims for police and other front-line responders with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder arising from their work. She previously tried to get this amendment passed in 2008 and 2010, but her bill did not get to second reading.

DiNovo says she hopes it’ll have a better shot this time because of the minority Liberal government.
