Deadly long weekend across Ontario

Five people were killed on Ontario’s roads and waterways over the long weekend.

Despite ramped-up enforcement by the OPP, four people were killed in three separate collisions in ontario, and one person died in a marine mishap.

Provincial police laid these charges:

• -6559 for speeding,
• -96 for street racing,
• -432 for seatbelt,
• -131 for driving while impaired,
• -174 for distracted driving,
• -169 roadside license suspensions.
