Crack video described in new Ford docs

The mayor of Canada’s largest city is still running from questions at city hall, months after his crack cocaine admission.

Police documents made public today describe the now-infamous video that started it all. They contain a few revelations, not so much stunning, as putting the Rob Ford crack video into focus.

As for Ford, he was a blur: running through the halls, at one point running over a photographer, refusing to answer questions about the documents, released after arguments by media lawyer Peter Jacobsen, who shared the contents outside the University Avenue Courthouse.

“At one point holds the glass cylinder in his mouth, lights the lighter and applies the flame to the tip of the glass cylinder in a circular motion.”

“Mayor Ford then appears to look into the recording device then drops the glass cylinder and lighter on a table next to him. he briefly points at the camera and asks if it’s on.”

The documents also comment on Ford’s contact with Sandro Lisi, his former driver who is currently facing extortion charges related to the video. It says that contact between Ford and Lisi is “indicative of drug trafficking.”

At city hall today, deputy mayor Norm Kelly would not comment on the documents directly but did express concern over the mayors silence. “I think one would expect a more fulsome response than has been delivered so far.”

Instead, Ford chose to focus his time on another opportunity to appear on an international television show. British food critic Giles Coren is believed to be here as part of the show Million Dollar Critic. Coren says he did not ask Ford about the scandal.

As for Ford, when asked why he would speak to a food show and not the news media: “they’ve got respect, not like you guys.”

Justice Ian Nordheimer ruled the search warrant documents should be unsealed, but some will remain under a publication ban until further arguments are heard March 28th.
