Colle pleading for Sickle Cell and Thalassemia patients

Sickle Cell Anemia and Thalassemia are genetic blood disorders considered silent diseases.
Toronto MPP Mike Colle has reintroduced a private members bill to bring awareness, resources and help to those with it. He’s made a plea to Ontario health minister Deb Matthews.
“Please, we need more resources, more attention, more of a focused approach to ensure that people across Ontario get the treatment they need to cope with these debilitating silent diseases.”
Colle says we need to educate doctors and front line medical staff to avoid misdiagnosis.
If the act is passed, June 19th would become Sickle Cell and Thalassemia awareness day in Ontario.
