Coronation Street star dies at 85
Johnny Briggs has died. The British actor is best known for his role as businessman Mike Baldwin in the long-running TV soap opera “Coronation Street.” Briggs made his debut on the
show as Baldwin in 1976, and remained until 2006. He was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire that same year. A family statement says Briggs died Saturday morning after a long illness. He was 85.
