Celebrating Groundhog Day with its namesake film

As part of today’s Groundhog Day celebrations, residents in Mississauga were treated to an appropriately-named film.

The 1993 cult classic film “Groundhog Day” was screened outdoors in Celebration Square.

In the film, Bill Murray’s character relives the same day over and over again. In the spirit of the movie, it was played repeatedly all afternoon.

Some people who came out to watch the film took advantage of today’s winter weather and enjoyed a skate on the outdoor rink.

CHCH caught up with some skaters to see how they felt about six more weeks of winter.
