The Canada Border Services Agency seized 100 brick shaped bundles of suspected cocaine at the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

CBSA officers found the shipment arriving from a Mexico flight on January 17, 2016 during a routine cargo check. The shipment was sent to CBSA offices, where they found the shipment contained two large wooden crates, with individual cardboard boxes inside.

Officers discovered a brick-shaped bundle when they opened one of the cardboard boxes, and when cut into, white powder was revealed.

A full inspection of both crates was done and a total of 100 brick-shaped bundles of suspected cocaine, weighing close to 118 kg, were seized.

Goran Vragovic, CBSA Regional Director, Greater Toronto Area Region said “this is an excellent interception and I commend our officers who conduct cargo examinations for their keen observation skills which led to the discovery of illicit narcotics.”

The suspected cocaine was turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. No dollar value has been mentioned yet.
