Cat thrown from car is adopted by loving family

A cat that was reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle, now has a loving, forever home.
The Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS) says Ellie was adopted on Thursday by a couple named Karen and Craig.
“Ellie certainly captured the hearts of all who met her and our staff and volunteers were sad to see her leave, but we’re so happy she has a new home” said Kevin Strooband, Executive Director of the Lincoln County Humane Society.
The couple had been following Ellie’s story and paid for a large portion of her medical costs after she underwent surgery to repair her jaw, her paw, a toe and had two broken teeth removed.
The cat was named Ellie to honour the man who rescued the feline after she was tossed onto a busy highway. Steven Ellis says he was about a football field length away when he spotted the cat in the air. He says he pulled onto the shoulder and backed up until he found the cat.
The LCHS says they have received a few leads but the investigation and search for the driver continues.
