Canada’s Wonderland has announced they’re making their chaperone policy permanent as of May 1.

The policy was first temporarily introduced in the fall of 2025 ahead of their annual Halloween Haunt event.

Similar to the first iteration of the park’s policy, guests 15 years old and younger will be required to be accompanied by someone who is at least 21 years old.

A Canada’s Wonderland spokesperson told CHCH News in an email that the policy is not the result of any specific incident.

“Chaperone policies are becoming standard at major entertainment venues and we are adapting the policy proactively to help keep the park safe and enjoyable for all. This is not in response to any incident at the park.”

Chaperones, parents or guardians accompanying the young guests must remain in the park and be reachable by park staff if needed.

According to a release from Wonderland, a valid government-issued photo ID with date of birth is required for all chaperones when they enter the park.

One chaperone may accompany no more than 10 guests 15 years old or younger per day.

Those under 15 years old or younger found in the park without a chaperone will be removed from the park at Wonderland’s discretion. This applies to all guests, including season pass and membership holders.

The policy will be enforced daily beginning at 4 p.m., but may be implemented earlier “as operational needs require.”
