C. diff at Hotel Dieu

Two people have tested positive for C. Difficile at the Hotel Dieu Shaver hospital in St. Catharines.

The hospital says it’s implemented outbreak procedures and the two patients are isolated in private rooms.

A third patient who had C. Diff. died earlier this month, but the coroner has ruled out the infection as a cause of death.

Hotel Dieu Shaver declared an outbreak back in July, which lasted three weeks.
