Bear spray used on family at Lime Ridge Mall, police say

Hamilton police say a family was sprayed with bear spray outside Lime Ridge Mall during an altercation Saturday afternoon.

According to officers, a dispute between a family and a group of youths at the mall’s bus terminal escalated when the youths sprayed the family with bear spray.

A 37-year-old and two children, aged 10 and seven, were affected. Authorities say others were hit with the spray, but everyone is reported to be okay.

Authorities add that four boys wearing dark clothing were seen fleeing the area.
