Niagara police arrested a man from Thorold Saturday in connection with several thefts from businesses in the City of Thorold across several months.

Officers say they began an investigation earlier this year in January, after a man had stolen several items from local businesses.

Investigators say they were able to identify the man as 37-year-old Dwayne Perkins, who was identified as the alleged suspect of several offences dating back to November of last year.

Detectives arrested Perkins Saturday and charged him with offences including failing to comply with a probation order, theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order.

Perkins attended a bail hearing Sunday and remains in custody.

Anyone with information related to his arrest is asked to contact police at (905) 688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009930.
