Niagara police are investigating a break-and-enter that occurred at a rural Grimsby property Feb. 2.

At approximately 12:05 p.m., officers say an unknown suspect broke into an outbuilding on a property in the Mud Street East and Mountain Road area.

The suspect stole hunting equipment, including two crossbows and five firearms, which police say are long guns.

CCTV in the area captured the suspect vehicle which is described as:

  • 2001-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or 2500HD
  • Grey or beige in colour
  • Extended cab
  • Tinted front and rear windows
  • No rear sliding window
  • Extended black tow mirrors
  • No truck box cover
  • Black rims on the rear tires and lighter coloured metallic rims on the front tires

Police are asking the public for help identifying the vehicle and/or the suspect involved in this break-and-enter.

Due to the type of items stolen, investigators are advising the public not to approach the suspect or vehicle, and to contact police immediately.
