Arrest warrant issued for man wanted in Welland area break-and-enters

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man linked to break ins and the theft of stolen tools across the Niagara region.

Niagara police examined a suspicious, abandoned white cargo van in the area of Kingsway Road in Welland, Ont. in the evening of July 27 and found a large number of tools inside.

The investigation linked the van and suspect to a number of break-and-enters across the Niagara region.

Joshua Stephens, 41, of St. Catharines is wanted for a number of offences, including failing to comply with a probation order and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Detectives recovered around $8,000 worth of stolen tools and merchandise, however the ownership of most of the items remains unknown.

Anyone who spots the accused is asked to not approach him and to contact Niagara police at 905-688-4111.
