3 charged in St. Catharines drug trafficking investigation: police

Three people have been arrested and charged in a drug trafficking investigation conducted by Niagara police in the City of St. Catharines on Wednesday.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the area of Tasker St. near Cross St. on Wednesday where they recovered suspected fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine. They say the combined estimated value of the seized drugs is $5,200, along with $514 of Canadian currency that was believed to have been acquired through crime.

Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the investigation.

Fifty-four-year-old Dudley Ryel Phillip of St. Catharines has been charged with two counts of possession with the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.

Erica K. Jones, 40, of Niagara Falls faces two counts of possession with the purpose of trafficking.

Fifty-year-old Ronald Burey of no fixed address has been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

All three suspects have been released on undertakings. Phillip is scheduled to appear in court on August 29, while Jones and Burey are scheduled to attend court on August 31.
