15-year-old arrested after disturbance at St. Catharines park

Niagara police have arrested a 15-year-old boy after a Friday night disturbance at Lakeside Park in St. Catharines.

Officers say witnesses reported observing several physical disturbances that occurred prior to police arriving on scene.

Witnesses report that a male suspect brandished a loaded firearm. Officers later located and arrested a male matching the description of the suspect.

Authorities seized a black imitation firearm and bear spray.

As a result, a 15-year-old boy is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Carry Concealed Weapon

The teen’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada.
