Peterborough, Ont. man charged for child sexual abuse in Niagara

Niagara police have arrested a 71-year-old Peterborough, Ont. man in an investigation into the sexual abuse of children.

Officers say the investigation was launched in April to look into the creation and ownership of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material or CSAEM.

As a result, detectives have arrested Gordon Gould of Peterborough.

Gould has been charged with:

• Three counts of sexual assault
• Three counts of exposing genitals to a person under 16 years
• Two counts of making child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Two counts of inviting sexual touching
• Possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Voyeurism

Police believe there are additional victims.

Investigators say the accused lived in St. Catharines between 2015 and 2020. He has also lived in Sudbury and Etobicoke.

Gould has lived in Peterborough since 2024, according to police.

Niagara police are providing tips for parents and guardians looking for ways to keep their children safe.
