Oakville’s BU Café aims to create opportunities for workers with disabilities

VIDEO: A new café in Oakville says it is not just a place to have a coffee, but also aims to be a place of inclusion with a focus on employing people with disabilities.

One of the owners has Down syndrome and says finding a job after college was a challenge — until now.

Jacob Stretton is one of the owners and co-founders of BU Cafe in Oakville, located on Lakeshore Road at Kerr Street. The other owner is his mother, Karen Drexler. They say the “BU” is short for “be yourself.”
