One man dead, one injured in double shooting

One man has died and another man is in hospital in serious condition after a double shooting in northwest Toronto on Saturday night.

Toronto Constable David Hopkinson said police responded about 8:45 p.m. to reports of a shooting outside a restaurant near Dixon Road and Carlingview Drive.

When they arrived, they found two shooting victims in the parking lot at the Lone Star Texas Grill, at 930 Dixon Road.

Dozens of police markers dotted the pavement Sunday indicating where more than 20 bullet casings fell on the ground. A white Range Rover remained at the scene, its passenger side door riddled with bullet holes.

It appeared that the vehicle had crashed into the bushes and fence at the side of a parking lot.

Officers have yet to provide a description of the suspect or suspects, but said the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are also warning drivers to expect road closures in the area.
