Body found on highway

***Update***

The OPP are continuing to investigate the discovery of a body near Highway 301 and Thickson Rd in Whitby.

With the help of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service, the OPP have identified the female human remains as that of a missing person from Toronto.

She has been identified as 22 year old Nadiya Salim.

Investigators are still looking for information in regards to Nadiya Salim.  If you know of anything you are asked to contact The OPP or Crime Stoppers.

The OPP is currently investigating the discovery of a body near Highway 401 and Thickson Rd in Whitby.

On Thursday, the OPP received calls about a body located in a creek near Highway 401.

The identity of the body is not known at the moment and the investigation is still ongoing.

The cause and death is also unknown.

A post mortem will be conducted on Friday at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.
